Well, this is it. I am leaving homeschoolblogger.com and moving my blog here.

I created this blog, almost a year and a half ago, because I was never truly comfortable with the conservative Christian viewpoint of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine but that never became an issue with their blogging site. But now, each upgrade they employ puts yet another barrier on my blogging abilities. First, I just had to use a different browser to add new entries, but now I can't even do that. I am tired of trying. I did enjoy the security of being in a place that only other homeschoolers populated, but now it is time to "come out" and join the real world. Time to socialize with the general public, lol.

Here is a link to my archives. Maria is right: too much effort to manually move them here. I'm much too verbose for that. ;) I am going to miss the smilies though.... but they got rid of the good ones anyway and that's probably the REAL reason I'm leaving!!!

So you had to use a different broswer for HSB? That's what they suggested I do so that I can login, since I haven't been able to do that since the "upgrades." Sorry, but it's not worth the hassle. Like you, I enjoyed the security of being in a homeschool-friendly community, but not enough to deal with the hassle.

I really like the options available here at Blogger. Thanks for sending me the link to your new blog. I've changed the link on my friends list.

Hi there! I'm going to delurk on your site (since I've been coming for over a year) because on blogspot I'll be able to tell when you update easier!

I discovered your site through PP homeschool board, although I rarely post there. I've just started HS my 4 year old and balance that with chasing my almost 2 year old.

I'll warn you my main site is probably more conservative Christian than you'll want, lol, but in the new year I hope to be better updating my Homeschooling site (mipahomeschool.blogspot.com) and we do use some of the same curriculum (Singapore Math, Get Ready for the Code). ok, I'm long-winded but I'm glad to see you over here.

Mm, you got out at a good time.

The ultra-conservatives (and their children) have been launching full-frontal assaults on other bloggers who don't agree with their POV. I'm in the process of setting up a new blog here, and I think a few other bloggers are doing the same.
